Barbuti SpA is the men's clothing company whose creations are inspired by timeless Italian elegance. It is distributed exclusively in Barbuti-branded stores throughout the country in the main reference centers.
The Brand takes its name from an ancient neighborhood in the historic center of Salerno, so called from the long beard typical of the Lombard warriors who settled there in the seventh century AD. and whose main street, La Drapparia (now Via dei Mercanti), has hosted highly specialized artisans and tailors for centuries.
The “Barbuti” collections are characterized by a hippocampus which has always been considered an incomparable lucky charm: wearing its image was considered a good omen and it can be found painted on the external walls of many houses in Pompeii to attract good luck.
The Maison's flagship products (including the famous seven-fold tie) are still produced in the family workshops in the Province of Salerno immersed in olive tree fields that slope down as far as the eye can see towards the sea.
